​Andrea Byer-Thomas

Pastor

Rev. Dr. Andrea Byer-Thomas was born and raised on the Caribbean twin-island of Antigua (Antigua and Barbuda), home of 366 beautiful, white, and pink sand beaches. She is married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother of “The Fantastic Four”. Some of her favorite activities include reading, gardening, dancing to her favorite calypsos, soap-making, people-watching, and all sorts of crafting. She loves tea and is a pescatarian.
 
Rev. Dr. Byer-Thomas has served as a senior pastor in the United Methodist Florida conference since 2011. In her work, she preaches prophetically and is unafraid to address social ills through contextual Biblical lenses. Her personal mission is to know God and make God known, living fully, the life she has. She is driven by her deep love for her family and God’s justice.

Carol A. Hilson

Preschool Director

​​Carol Hilson was born in Ft. Pierce, Florida and grew up as the youngest of four.  "I was blessed to have had such a wonderful loving family.  The house was always full of neighbors, and animals of every variety.  Our Parents modeled a true generosity of spirit."
 
​Community’s Preschool was established in 1988 with Carol as Director.  In November 2020, Carol retired as St. Lucie County District 2 School Board Member after two decades of service.  Carol has three daughters and sons-in-law and five grandsons.
